The Global Synchronizer Foundation (GSF) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Melvis Langyintuo as our new Executive Director. A strategic thinker, ecosystem builder, and seasoned leader across both traditional finance and Web3, Melvis joins GSF at a critical moment as we scale adoption of the Global Synchronizer and deepen our role in shaping the future of synchronized finance.
A Unique Moment for GSF and the Canton Network
GSF serves as the neutral steward of the Global Synchronizer—governing integrity and interoperability within the Canton Network, the world’s first privacy-enabled public blockchain purpose-built for institutional adoption. As institutions increasingly rely on decentralized systems for programmable finance, GSF plays a vital role in ensuring that interoperability, security, and open governance remain foundational to the Canton ecosystem.
Hiring an Executive Director marks a major milestone for the foundation, reinforcing our commitment to transparent, high-integrity leadership and community-driven growth.
Meet Melvis: Bridging Crypto and Capital Markets
Melvis brings a rare combination of experience that spans capital markets, trading, crypto infrastructure, product strategy, and ecosystem development. His background includes:
- Global Team Lead at OKX, where he drove partnerships, liquidity strategies, third-party integrations, operational efficiencies, and new business line launches. He also served on the Global Business Development and Operations leadership team and helped scale institutional crypto adoption across major markets and client segments.
- Vice President at JPMorgan, where he helped modernize FX and Credit electronic trading platforms, leading cross-functional strategy and product development initiatives.
- Macro trading roles at Goldman Sachs, where he contributed to both discretionary and systematic trading strategies, risk management, and execution infrastructure.
In addition to his corporate roles, Melvis is an active advisor and angel investor in early-stage crypto projects, including, Exabits and Ultrade. He’s a Limited Partner at 6th Man Ventures and a respected voice in Web3 and fintech circles. His ability to translate between technical communities, financial institutions, and policy audiences makes him uniquely equipped to lead GSF into its next phase.
A Vision Aligned with Open, Interoperable Finance
Melvis joins GSF with a clear mandate: accelerate the adoption of the Global Synchronizer, champion open and inclusive governance, and strengthen alignment across the five key GSF committees—Technology & Operations, Tokenomics, Audit & Finance, Marketing, and Legal.
His leadership will directly support Canton’s growing ecosystem of validators, developers, and institutions—including global leaders like Goldman Sachs, BNP, Nasdaq, Euroclear, HKEX, and others—who are building on the promise of decentralized interoperability.
