In July 2024, the Global Synchronizer went live into production with a decentralized group of operators.
These parties need independent, transparent governance and coordination to provide a reliable service to the
Canton Network.

GSF Ecosystem

The GSF serves as point of contact for all Super Validator coordination and votes on governance matters and votes on changes to the code and services.
The GSF serves as a forum to foster the development of the Canton Network ecosystem.
The GSF runs a Super Validator node for its Members, and votes according to the direction of its Members.
GSF Structure
Any Member can join a Member Committee or Working Group
Only Board Members or their Rep can join Board Committees
Review GSF legal decisions and monitor participant compliance with items like OFAC
Review GSF financial decisions and monitor budget compliance
Facilitate communication among Super Validator Operators. Maintain slack channel and GitHub repository. Maintain reference implementations of Canton and Splice used by the Global Synchronizer. Maintain reference copy of operational and governance guidelines
Aims to design and optimize a sustainable economic model, ensuring balanced incentives, governance, and long-term stability for a token ecosystem.
Create a funnel for all incoming requests to the right participant, committee, or working group. Manage participant outreach and amplify activity in the community
